Disclaimer

Last updated: April 2026

Please read this carefully. This Disclaimer is a material part of your agreement to use OurBrainCanvas and defines important limits of what this product is and does.

1. This is not a medical or clinical tool

OurBrainCanvas is a personal development and self-exploration tool. It is designed to help you reflect on your cognitive preferences, thinking patterns, and ways of working. OurBrainCanvas is not:

OurBrainCanvas does not practice medicine (Heilkunde) within the meaning of the German Heilpraktikergesetz, nor provide psychotherapy within the meaning of the Psychotherapeutengesetz. No clinical, medical, or therapeutic relationship is created through the use of this tool.

2. Your results are not a diagnosis

Your cognitive profile reflects patterns in your self-reported answers at the time you completed the assessment. It does not constitute a clinical diagnosis, a confirmed description of any neurological or psychological state, an evidence-based assessment of ability or aptitude, or a professional opinion about your health or cognitive functioning.

Your results may feel personally resonant and meaningful — this is the purpose of the tool. But feeling recognised is not the same as being diagnosed. Your report is a reflective prompt, not a clinical finding.

3. Results are based on self-reported input

OurBrainCanvas generates your profile entirely from the answers you provide. The honesty and care with which you answer shapes what your report reflects. We cannot and do not verify your answers. There are no right or wrong answers. Completing the assessment on different days or in different states of mind may produce different results — this reflects natural variability in how we experience ourselves, not a flaw in the tool.

4. Not a substitute for professional support

If you have concerns about your mental health, cognitive functioning, neurodevelopmental traits, or any related matter, we encourage you to consult a qualified professional — such as a licensed psychologist, psychiatrist, neurologist, or your GP. OurBrainCanvas is not a replacement for professional assessment, diagnosis, therapy, or clinical care of any kind.

If you are in distress or experiencing a mental health crisis, please contact a qualified healthcare professional or emergency services in your country immediately. In Germany: Telefonseelsorge 0800 111 0 111 (free, 24/7).

5. Your responsibility for decisions

Any career decisions, educational choices, workplace changes, or personal decisions you make in response to your report are entirely your own responsibility. OurBrainCanvas provides a tool for reflection — not a directive, recommendation, or plan of action. OurBrainCanvas, its operator, and any affiliated contributors accept no liability for outcomes arising from decisions made based on your report.

6. AI context prompt — important notice

AI disclaimer

Your full report includes an optional AI context prompt — a text snippet summarising your cognitive profile that you can paste into third-party AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, or others. By using this feature, you acknowledge and accept the following:

7. Framework and accuracy

The OurBrainCanvas cognitive framework is a proprietary model developed for personal reflection. It is not a clinically validated psychometric instrument, and we make no claim that it represents a scientifically proven or universally accepted model of human cognition. Cognitive profiles are descriptive and exploratory — they reflect tendencies and preferences, not fixed or permanent characteristics. People change, circumstances change, and no self-report assessment can fully capture the complexity of any individual.

8. Summary statement

OurBrainCanvas is an educational personal development tool designed to help you explore your cognitive strengths and thinking patterns. It is not a medical device, diagnostic tool, or clinical assessment. This platform does not provide medical advice, psychological diagnosis, psychotherapy, or treatment of any kind. Your results do not constitute a clinical assessment or medical opinion and should not be used as a substitute for professional advice. OurBrainCanvas does not practice medicine (Heilkunde) within the meaning of the German Heilpraktikergesetz, nor provide psychotherapy within the meaning of the Psychotherapeutengesetz.

Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 2026

Short version: We collect almost nothing. Your assessment answers are processed to generate your report and are not stored on our servers. You print or save your own report. We do not sell data, run ads, or build profiles.

OurBrainCanvas is a cognitive self-reflection tool operated from Berlin, Germany. This policy explains exactly what personal data we handle, why, and what rights you have — wherever in the world you are located.

1. Who we are

OurBrainCanvas is operated by Anurag Tewari, a sole trader (Einzelunternehmer) based in Berlin, Germany.

Business address:
Mariendorfer Damm 206
12107 Berlin, Germany

Contact: hello@ourbraincanvas.com

As a business operating from Germany within the European Union, we are subject to the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the German Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG). Because cognitive profile data could potentially reveal information about how a person thinks and processes information, we apply GDPR Article 9 protections as a precautionary measure — even though OurBrainCanvas is not a health or medical product.

2. What data we actually collect

Our data footprint is intentionally minimal. We have designed OurBrainCanvas to avoid collecting personal data wherever possible.

What we do not collect

3. How your assessment is processed

When you complete the assessment, your answers are used to calculate your cognitive profile scores and generate your report. This processing happens transiently — either within your browser (client-side) or briefly on our server — and your answers are not retained once the report has been produced. You receive your report to read, print, or save yourself. We do not hold a copy.

Future feature: email report delivery

We may introduce an optional feature allowing you to have your report sent to your email address. If and when this is introduced, it will be entirely opt-in. We would process your email address solely to deliver your report and would not retain it beyond that delivery. We will update this policy before launching this feature.

4. Cookies

We use one strictly necessary session cookie to keep your assessment flow intact as you move through the questions. This cookie contains no personal information, is not used for tracking, and is automatically deleted when you close your browser tab. We do not use analytics cookies, advertising cookies, or any third-party tracking scripts.

If a third-party payment widget is active on a checkout page, it may set its own functional cookies. Please refer to the relevant provider's privacy policy for details.

5. Payment processing

Payments for the full report (€9.99) are processed by PayPal and/or other third-party payment providers. OurBrainCanvas does not receive or store your payment card details or bank information. We may see order-level information — such as your email address, country, and purchase date — for the sole purpose of handling customer support queries.

Payment providers operate under their own privacy policies. Please review the privacy policy of the relevant provider at the time of your transaction.

6. Hosting infrastructure

OurBrainCanvas is hosted on Vercel. As with all web hosting, server infrastructure automatically logs standard request data including IP addresses, request timestamps, and browser type. We do not actively collect, review, or analyse this data. It is retained by Vercel according to their own data retention policies.

7. Data retention

8. Your rights under GDPR

If you are located in the EU or EEA, you have the following rights regarding any personal data we hold:

Because we store almost no personal data, many of these rights will have limited practical application. We will respond to any request within 30 days. Contact us at hello@ourbraincanvas.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Berlin Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information (Berliner Beauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit) or your local supervisory authority.

9. International users

OurBrainCanvas is accessible globally. Our servers are located in the EU. Where any data is processed outside the EU — for example, through our payment providers' infrastructure — appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) are in place. We apply GDPR-level protections to all users as our baseline standard, regardless of where you are located.

10. Users under 16

OurBrainCanvas is intended for users aged 16 and older. Under GDPR Article 8, users aged 16 and above may consent to data processing independently in Germany without parental consent. If you are under 16, please do not use OurBrainCanvas without the consent of a parent or legal guardian. If you believe a user under 16 has used the service without consent, contact us and we will delete any associated data promptly.

11. Changes to this policy

We will notify users of material changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of OurBrainCanvas after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
